There is a beauty to overpowered characters that people often overlook. An overpowered character does not necessarily mean that they are perfect. One of my favorite characters of all time is Superman, the most traditional overpowered character. However, I do not like him for his powers or his alien background, but rather for his humanity. It is his humanity and his desire to help people that make him more relatable than some human characters. He does not always have the answer, and he is not the smartest guy in the room. He just has a gift and wants to use that to help others. It is the overpowered character that has some of the best internal conflict and as great as outsmarting the bad guys are, it is that imperfection of an overpowered character that makes a great story.
